...Breakthrough...

Here are the amazing DANCE group from Mrs England’s Breakthrough groups.

These amazing dancers have been learning about how dancing has changed over time and how it began and where it has come from.

They are now making up a dance to present in front of the Hub at the end of the term. They have been creating a presentation about dance, which will be presented to the Hub alongside their dance.
Here is their presentation...

Mrs England's Breakthrough Groups Term 2

Mrs England's Breakthrough Groups Term 2

Mrs England is in charge of these wonderful Breakthrough groups this term...
Singing
Dance
Lego
Jewellery

All groups have been hard at work today brainstorming and drawing what they already know about their chosen topic. We knew a little bit of information in our area of choice, but we have so much more to learn. We have also brainstormed what we now want to learn about and what we want to do/ achieve with our chosen Breakthrough.
We are all super excited about our topics for Term 2.

Bring on Breakthrough for Term 2!

Sign Language Week:

...NZ Sign Language Week...

In Hub 1 we have been celebrating and learning all about NZ Sign Language Week.
We have been using and practising the alphabet to learn how to say our name using sign language.

It has been a lot of fun and we are becoming so confident with sharing our names to one another.

Here are some photos of learners who have shared to the hub their name in sign language...

If you would like to learn more about NZ Sign Language week please check out the website: http://www.deaf.org.nz/nz-sign-language

In Measurement Mrs Unka's Maths group have been learning to estimate lengths and centimetres and metres.  We made worms with playdough, on the left of whiteboard we estimated how long our worm would be and on the right we recorded the actual measurement of our worms.
