Hub 9 learners were inspired to share their amazing cybersmart skills that they learned with Mrs Grant every Monday.  We decided that we wanted to become CyberSmart Ninjas and thought about how we might do that.

Lights, Camera, Action!

Today was filming day in Hub 9 during our digital learning lessons.
We're going to be World Famous in the Manaiakalani Cluster thanks to our amazing movies about 'What would a cybersmart learner do?'

We wrote our scripts, practiced our acting with our buddy, and today we filmed it.
Mrs Grant was the chromebook director and Miss Campbell was the iPad director.  We had loads of fun!

It's important to be cybersmart when you work on your device and we hope you learn as much from watching our videos as we did making them.

Cyber Smart - what personal information could we share online?

We have been learning what we could keep public and what we should make private when it comes to our personal information online.  Below is a table that Dylan created to show how he made meaning to sort and group things he could share online.  How do you compare?

Creating a smart footprint

We have been learning to make smart decisions about what personal information we share online. To help us we explored the blogs of other learners in Manaiakalani Schools to see what kinds of information they are sharing online. We recorded our ideas and screenshots in our Google Drive. Mia M and Jacqueline's slides are below. What kinds of information can you see?

What should I share online? What should I not share?

We can share just about everything online, but should we?  
We have the tools to learn online now we are  bringing what we know about what we can share online and what we really shouldn't.

Great learning conversations overheard with Mrs Grant...
I would share my favourite learning on the blog.
I wouldn't share my last name.
Some things we might keep private (age, how many brothers and sisters we have)
Some things we will definitely keep private (Our full name, home address).
I might put my pets name up there because if my pet got lost people might be able to help me find them.

We had great discussions about what we should keep private and what we could put online.  We then had a discussion about what websites we could share on.  We decided that we could share information on website that we knew who owned them, but we still weren't going to share our private information on those sites. If we are not sure we would ask our parents or our teachers.

Today we did a lot of THINKING, CONNECTING, REFLECTING, and being SELF AWARE about our online digital footprint.
